Christmas Crackers

Last week when I was in John Lewis I saw this box of Christmas Crackers. I loved the colours and because I have one of those minds that work overtime and I think of daft plans! I thought I could make them into little gift packages - so that's what I did :)

I removed the ribbons that were tying each end, took out the naff party hat, toy and joke! and added a small gift. Then I tied the edges with new (much nicer) ribbon

I had some scraps of red and green paper on my desk so glued it to pieces of chipboard and cut out the initials of my gift recipients then I added some glittery Stickles to make them sparkle

I'm really pleased with how they turned out - and I've made a start on my Christmas wrapping

**Just a reminder that our red and green colour challenge ends tonight but you still have time to enter and your might win! **

Customer Creations

We have some exceptionally talented customers. We love to recieve emails so that we can see what you have all been creating and of course we want to show everyone else so that you can all go and visit their blogs to see yet more lovely projects :)

Nat sent these lovely cards, we loved how she's hung her banners on the bakers twine

Jean sent us a photograph of her monochromatic cards using the ruffle ribbon and polka dot buttons, lovely!

Sally made this beautiful Christmas card using the popular red gingham - those Christmas trees are beautiful

Mandy has been very 'krafty' ! and made this gorgeous card and these embossed pockets - we're definitley going to try embossing the little pockets, such a good idea! And that's not all, she crocheted those flowers with Bakers Divine Twine and Ribbon Girl button twine!!

We'd love to see what our other customers are making, you can email us through the contact us page on the Ribbon Girl website

Design Team Mega Roundup

Warning - Mega huge post coming up!!

Our Design Team have been cooking up a storm during the last few weeks and I have stacks of projects to share with you today

We love every single one of Lucy's cards and these are no exception

I couldn't resist sharing this one, look at all those owls sitting on a 'branch' of Button Twine - how cute?
Jo has made some gorgeous creations, we love all the details she adds to her cards

Just look at this clever card from Jane, she used the Button Twine to make the dog lead!

Wendy has been super busy, we loved how she used the red ruffle ribbon on the edge of the card - and Andrea's all time favourite red saddlestitch ribbon too:)

And these are our projects, Mary was inspired by this post on Kath's blog to have a go at making a miniature wreath hanging

And see those holly berries? they are made using the latest addition to the Ribbon Girl shop - Dewdrop embellishments. Don't they make perfect holly berries?

Finally these are Andrea's cards

Thanks to all of our Design Team girls, we are so grateful for all that you do for us and we love seeing all your creations. We hope Debbie will be back online soon as she is having horrible computer problems (we can't imagine how you feel Debbie with *shock* no internet!!)

We are always interested to see the projects that our customers have been making and we *might* just be looking around for next month's guest designer :)

Love from Mary and Andrea - The Ribbon Girls

Colour Challenge #2

Hello! We were so impressed with all the entries that we recieved for our first colour challenge last month that we thought we'd do it again - and make it a regular challenge each month :)

The challenge this month is to create a project with the main colour focus of red and green and use the InLinkz button at the end of this post to enter your project. The links will close on Sunday October 31st (Midnight UK time), and we'll randomly select one project to win this gorgeous prize from The Ribbon Girl

Please mention The Ribbon Girl in your blog post, use the colours red and green as your main colour focus and be sure to link directly to the blog post or gallery image which features your project. You don't have to use ribbons on your project but it would be nice if you do :o) We'll post the prize worldwide so we need to be able to contact you through your blog.

**As well as the ribbon prize we are also giving away the 3 mitten hangings that Gail has made for us (see further down for pictures) to some lucky participants**

Some of our fabulous Design Team have been creating with the red/green colour scheme and we have a special guest too (more about her further on in this post)

(holly leaf cut out and tiny silver bells from the seasonal section, red stripe ribbon, spotty grosgrain, polka dot buttons and red bakers twine)

She has made 3 gorgeous mitten hangings for her design team projects and has kindly said we can give them away to lucky participants of the colour challenge!  Check out Gail's blog for more fantastic projects
